AFCON
Anyone giving a shit about this? I’m not really but thought I’d stick Algeria vs Sierra Leone on the box. Benrahma on the bench but Feghouli(!) playing right back.

I see the BBC are carrying in with their ‘Salah is the only African player anyone could be interested in’ and are showing Egypt as one of their selections. Constantly referenced yesterday. MO SALAH (and Egypt) No doubt it’ll be all of Egypt’s games.

Re: AFCON
Was interested, some of the African teams have some superstars in them now

But had the games on yesterday in work and the standard and quality was league 1 level for the most of it

Tournament favourites Senegal were useless

Re: AFCON
I barely watch any Prem football if West Ham are not involved, so I'm fucked if I'm going to watch a second of this shit.

Re: AFCON
Can confirm this match is indeed dogshit so far. Algeria have been really poor.

It must be frustrating for players like Mahrez who are class and play for class teams, but also a dogshit county at the same time.

Watched about 5 mins of the game involving COMOROS because I like the name. Also like GABON

There is no fucking way an African team is ever, ever winning the World Cup.

Re: AFCON
Have they said why Benrahma isn't playing?

El Scorchio 4:19 Tue Jan 11
Re: AFCON
They have not. I was a bit surprised TBH. I suppose if he’s not playing he can’t get injured.

I also have mixed feelings about Algeria. Would be nice for him if they won but if they crash out he’s back sooner.

The pitch is fucking appalling. Not sure why I am surprised at that.

Should have scored with almost his first touch. Put it wide.

6 games in a row under 2.5 goals

Next game Egypt v Nigeria under 2.5 is 2/5 !!!

Match fixing anyone? well if it was going to happen in a tournament would probably be the AFCON

Is this worth switching the kabbadi over for?

Re: AFCON
Is there any reason why somebody with no connections to Africa (being rinsed by a Nigerian doesn't count) should show the slightest interest in this tournament?

OK - it's football - but the women also play football now and I'm less than interested in that, too.

Re: AFCON
I feel like this is played every year, and for that reason alone, I'm out. It's baffling as to why this can't be scheduled in June or July like the tournaments for every other federation

I shall forward your remarks to Ian Wright, he thinks anyone who doesn’t follow it or give it the respect it deserves is a racist ✊✊

Re: AFCON
Strong start from my Nigerian brethren.

With the weight of my fiver on their backs to win the tournament, they'll soon fall apart.

Standard is generally fairly wank, but normally some great value dives and rolls.

Re: AFCON
Gave 2 dodgy penalties.
Blew up for full time in the 85th minute.
Realised his error so carried on the game.
Then sent someone off for an innocuous-looking challenge.
And then blew for full time in the 89th minute.

A Premier League manager in the making.
